About us
Green Ninja is a family run business, founded in 2009 outside Hamilton, Ontario. Our motto is "Tread Lightly", and we simply aim to make the world a better place for our children to live in.

We formed Green Ninja following the birth of our first child. After the initial few weeks of insanity settled down and we slowly moved into a routine, we noticed that we were throwing out an extra bag or more of garbage every week. For the most part, this garbage was made up of disposable diapers, diaper wipes, and product packaging. We were shocked that a newborn could produce so much waste! After some careful research, we decided that we could do better - adding yet another bag full of garbage to the landfill every week was unacceptable. Armed with this research, we figured that we could share our experiences with others so that it would be easier to grow the number of people making the planet a better place to live in.
Just like the old African saying, "it takes a village to raise a child", so too does it take a lot of work to run the Green Ninja service. Here is a list of some of the many who have helped us along the way.
- John from Ethical Host for providing our internet hosting.
- Bullfrog Power for powering our entire operation with 100% green electricity.
- A countless number of developers who have contributed to the free and open source software we use behind the scenes: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (even though we'd rather be driving something else), Drupal, Ubercart
- The City of Hamilton for being "the best place to raise a child".
And finally, a huge thank you to the Grey Ninjas for all their love, support and grand-parenting services. We could not have done it without you...
